PATRICK DECUYPER, FASC AND ACT AS ONE OUTLINE A CONCEPT FOR COOPERATION
FAN PARTICIPATION IN THE MAKING AT ANTWERP
Great news for all Royal Antwerp fans: the Federation of Antwerp Supporters Clubs (FASC) and the Antwerp Community Trust (ACT as ONE) let you know that they are engaging constructively with the board of Royal Antwerp Football Club. Both FASC and ACT as ONE hope to work closely together with the club in the future.
THE CONCEPT: WHAT’S ON THE DRAWING BOARD?
At the first stage, FASC will – as of old – take care of the ticketing for away games. ACT as ONE will, among other things, take care of the community work and establish an ombudsman service, where questions and remarks from the fans towards the board of Royal Antwerp can be submitted. The fans also receive a ‘golden share’: a right of veto concerning the name, the official number, and the colors of the club. In addition, they may delegate an observer to the management committee of the plc RAFCM, who can ask questions and submit remarks there. Moreover, this person will function as a bridge between the club and the supporters institutions, and he will observe the daily functioning of the club.
At a later stage, when the NPO RAFC will be free of debts, FASC and ACT as ONE will work together within the NPO RAFC, of course, with respect for the already-residing associated members. At this stage, the official number will be transferred from the NPO RAFC to the plc RAFCM, but the fans have nothing to worry about, because they will possess a golden share including the right of veto about this matter. Thus, the DNA of Royal Antwerp is secured.
Within this design a lot of work still needs to be done, but the club, the FASC and ACT as ONE are confident that they will tie up the loose ends in the coming weeks. As soon as the plans are concrete, a meeting will be organized in order to explain them to the fans. In accordance to the Articles of the NPO ACT as ONE, its owners are of course firstly allowed to vote about the plans, before they can be definitively approved.
Clearly, all this will demand a lot of effort and time in the weeks and perhaps months to come, but we continue to work together towards a historic unity between Royal Antwerp, the FASC and ACT as ONE, through which fan participation in Antwerp may finally see daylight!
